**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
**Senior Engineer - IoT / Scaled Innovations**

As the ECS Scaled Innovation - IoT Senior Engineer role is responsible for building and maintaining AstraZeneca’s Enterprise IoT platform, you will be responsible for strategizing the management of all of the IoT Edge infrastructure, managing the configuration and provisioning of these edge IoT devices at scale. You will collaborate with the Platform architecture group to strategize and run the at scale deployments, twin updates and support various IoT topologies.

Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to address and mitigate these problems. He/she works with other Platforms teams with AstraZeneca to share experience in this domain is essential.

He/She works closely with Engineering Teams and ensures that AZ technical solutions are delivered to AZ defined reference standards technology standards.

This role will evaluate project needs and come up with solutions, Rapid prototyping, integrating assets and development, Optimizing and Polishing and Keeping up with latest trends and advancements in IoT Technology
- In depth understanding of Linux systems, administrative skills on Unix based systems, understanding of various security methodologies like PKI, symmetric key attestations keys. Must have good understanding on the working of IP networks.
- Hands on experience in any one of scripting languages like shell scripts, python, etc.
- Hands on experience in building IoT device solutions, preferably in AWS/ Azure. Working knowledge on Device client and Module client, Service SDKs of AWS/ Azure IoT stack is a big plus.
- Proficient in any one of the programming languages like C#, Java, Python, C or Node JS. Experience in working with embedded devices is preferred.
- Understanding of Information security techniques like PKI, symmetric key attestation, TPM attestation, SSH key validation, TLS are good value adds.
- Understanding of IoT communication, networking, and hardware interfacing standards like MQTT, AMQP, Web Sockets, EAP TLS, BLE, ZigBee, LoRaWAN is bonus.
- Experience in automation and configuration management tools.
- Sound knowledge of source code management tools like SVN/ Git/ VSTS, etc
- Troubleshooting coding problems quickly and efficiently will offer you a chance to grow your skills in a high-pace, high-impact environment.

8+ years of experience with strong focus in IoT Solution development is required with Device gateway, IOT hub, Event hub and service bus and AWS / Azure functions. A commitment

**Essential**:

- Relevant technical degree or equivalent
- Proven skills and experience being the solution architect on projects and programmes
- Strong knowledge and experience in IoT communication, networking, and hardware interfacing standards like MQTT, AMQP, Web Sockets, EAP TLS, BLE, ZigBee, LoRaWAN
- C#, Java, Python, C or Node JS Exposure to scripting language (JS, C#, Python)
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns and data structures.
- Demonstrated initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working
- Provide and receive accurate information in research projects & other communications.
- Ability to travel to AstraZeneca’s global Operations sites
- Ability to work well in diverse, multinational teams and proven ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes

**Desirable**:

- Master’s degree
- Demonstrated leadership skills interacting with senior leaders
- Understanding of the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, IT trends and of competitor activity
