We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of **AVP Control Design**

**In this role, you will**:
**The Opportunity**:
The responsibility of the role is to design Automation solutions, provide Quality Assurance by code review as well as undertake PoCs for MSS Data Ops domains across various functions on solutions built using C# &.Net technologies. This is an individual contributor role, should be flexible to work in shifts as per business requirement, coverage to be provided either in APAC or UK shifts as per stakeholder requirement as well as provide BAU support through shift mobiles either in AM coverage or PM coverage to address Prod issues outside BAU hours.

**What you’ll do**:

- Work within an actively evolving MSS business, responding to the business in a timely and flexible manner
- Working in a diverse and complex risk, control, and regulatory environment, that is continually developing/changing in scope and focus.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to shape a sustainable future for MSS.
- To respectfully challenge the risk profile with peers across MSS and relevant Global Functions, maintaining a balance between risk reward/commercial benefit.
- The role holder will adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures
- The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules, and codes with which the business must comply
- This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators. Through the implementation the Global AML, Sanctions and ABC Policies, supporting Guidance, and Line of Business Procedures the jobholder will make informed decisions in accordance with the core principles of HSBC's Financial Crime Risk Appetite
Requirements

**To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements**:
**Knowledge**
- Strong understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviors, processes, and objectives
- Good knowledge of HSBC’s various Global businesses and functions
- Good working knowledge of functional area and varying degrees of appreciation for risk management strategies, capabilities, and governance
- Strong knowledge of non-financial risk and control management frameworks

**Experience**
- Experience of positive, challenging interactions with Senior Management/ Stakeholders
- Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and multi-culturally diverse work environments
- Strong analytical background
- Proven ability in successfully identifying, designing, managing, and delivering complex local / regional change programmers, risk reviews or projects
- Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in clear language
- Proven ability in writing risk papers, guidance and/or policy documentation
- Proven abilities in working with virtual teams and working across cultures in a global business context
