The Desk Supervisor - Housekeeping is responsible for managing and supervising the daily operations of the housekeeping desk, ensuring that all housekeeping requests are handled promptly and efficiently. This role involves coordinating housekeeping staff, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- **Supervision and Coordination**:
- Oversee the daily activities of the housekeeping desk and staff.
- Assign tasks and areas of responsibility to housekeeping staff.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleaning schedules to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks.
- **Customer Service**:
- Address and resolve guest complaints and requests in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor, providing excellent service to both internal and external customers.
- Ensure that all guest requests and special needs are addressed promptly.
- **Inventory and Supplies Management**:
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Order and restock supplies as necessary, ensuring cost-effective management.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and manage supply budgets.
- **Training and Development**:
- Train new housekeeping staff on standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for existing staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to housekeeping staff.
- **Quality Control**:
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet the hotel's cleanliness standards.
- Address any deficiencies and take corrective action as needed.
- Implement and maintain quality control systems to ensure consistent service delivery.
- **Administrative Duties**:
- Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities, including staff schedules, inventory levels, and maintenance issues.
- Prepare reports on housekeeping operations and submit them to the management team.
- Handle administrative tasks related to housekeeping operations, such as scheduling and payroll.
Qualifications:
- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality management is a plus.
- **Experience**: At least 2-3 years of experience in housekeeping, preferably in a supervisory role.
- **Skills**:
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Proficient in using housekeeping management software and other related technology.
- **Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and move heavy objects, such as furniture and cleaning supplies.
Working Conditions:
- The position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- The work environment is typically indoors but may include exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
