**Job Title**: Welfare Officer
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Compliance with Factory Act 1948**:
- Ensure strict adherence to the Factory Act 1948 and other relevant labor laws and regulations.
- Monitor and maintain records related to working hours, rest intervals, and overtime for all employees.
- Conduct periodic inspections to verify compliance with safety and health provisions.
2. **Welfare Activities**:
- Develop, implement, and manage welfare programs and initiatives for employees to enhance their quality of life at work.
- Organize recreational activities, cultural events, and health camps to promote employee well-being.
- Administer and maintain facilities like restrooms, canteens, and first-aid centers.
3. **Employee Counseling**:
- Provide counseling and support to employees facing personal or work-related issues.
- Address grievances and conflicts within the factory, promoting a harmonious work environment.
4. **Safety and Health**:
- Collaborate with the Safety Officer to ensure the factory complies with safety standards.
- Conduct safety training sessions and awareness programs for employees.
- Respond to accidents or emergencies, ensuring prompt medical attention and reporting as required by law.
5. **Documentation and Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate records related to welfare activities, safety measures, and compliance reports.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to regulatory authorities and management as required by law.
6. **Employee Engagement**:
- Foster positive employee relations through effective communication and engagement initiatives.
- Organize feedback sessions and suggest improvements based on employee input.
7. **Legal Liaison**:
- Act as a liaison between the management and labor authorities.
- Represent the organization during labor inspections and audits.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Welfare Officer or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of the Factory Act 1948 and other relevant labor laws.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy and the ability to provide counseling and support to employees.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Proficiency in using computer software for documentation and reporting.
