**Front Desk Receptionist Job Description**
**Overview**:
We are seeking a Front Desk Receptionist with a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our clinic, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service to patients and visitors. Your responsibilities will include greeting and assisting patients, scheduling appointments, managing phone calls, and maintaining patient records. Prior experience in a medical setting is essential for this role.
**Responsibilities**:
1. **Patient Interaction**:
- Greet patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Provide assistance and direction to patients, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
2. **Appointment Scheduling**:
- Schedule patient appointments accurately, taking into account physician availability and patient preferences.
- Confirm upcoming appointments and follow up on missed appointments or cancellations.
3. **Phone Management**:
- Answer phone calls promptly and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member.
- Take messages accurately and relay them to the appropriate recipient in a timely manner.
4. **Records Management**:
- Maintain electronic and paper patient records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Update patient demographic information and insurance details as necessary.
- Retrieve and file medical records as requested by authorized personnel.
5. **Administrative Support**:
- Assist with administrative tasks such as photocopying, faxing, and filing.
- Handle insurance verification and processing of insurance claims.
- Collaborate with medical staff and other departments to ensure efficient clinic operations.
**Requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Receptionist in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of healthcare procedures.
- Strong customer service skills with a courteous and empathetic attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy guidelines.
