- Plan, Supervise and execute all the regular work of the plant and site maintenance based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
- Collaborate and Work with all the departments on site to ensure maintenance priorities are agreed and acted upon in a manner consistent with the site’s risk management strategy and in accordance with Plant Manager.
- Suggest physical improvements to the site equipment to address ongoing maintenance or operational problems.
- Participate actively with engineering team in all aspects of projects when called upon.
- Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition of maintenance workshop (5S). Manage the status of critical and “insurance” spares for the site.
- Ensure all necessary documentation pertaining to Legal, Regulatory and Normet guidelines.
- Maintain, develop and implement a preventive/predictive maintenance program to minimise lost production time and maintenance costs.
- Plan and oversee the maintenance schedule of work during production shut downs.
- Examine plant, equipment, systems and facilities to determine required services or repairs and compute estimates of cost and time frames to return to service.
- Develop new systems and techniques to perform upgrades and maintenance repairs of previously unmaintained equipment, or new techniques to replace those which are no longer acceptable under modern safety standards.
- Inspect, test and measure completed work to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements. Report any unsafe machinery or work practices at the plant to Management.
