**THE GENERAL GOAL OF THE POSITION**
As a sales executive for a children's book publication company, your responsibilities would encompass a blend of strategic planning, client management, and sales execution tailored specifically to the children's book market.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- **Understanding the Product**: Thoroughly familiarize yourself with the children's books published by the company, including their themes, age appropriateness, educational value, and unique selling points.
- **Generating Leads**: Identify potential buyers such as schools, libraries, bookstores, educational institutions, and other organizations interested in children's literature.
- **Pitching and Presenting**: Effectively present and promote children's books to potential buyers, highlighting their educational benefits, entertainment value, and relevance to the target audience.
- **Building Relationships**: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in schools, libraries, and other institutions to encourage repeat sales and recommendations.
- **Negotiating Contracts**: Discuss pricing, terms of sale, discounts, and other contractual details with buyers while ensuring profitability for the company.
- **Market Research**: Stay updated on trends in children's literature, educational standards, and customer preferences to adapt sales strategies and offerings accordingly.
- **Sales Planning and Strategy**: Develop and implement sales plans and strategies to achieve sales targets and maximize revenue from the children's book segment.
- **Customer Service**: Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with marketing, editorial, and distribution teams to coordinate promotional campaigns, book launches, and sales events.
- **Feedback and Reporting**: Gather feedback from customers and provide insights to the company regarding market trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for improvement.
- **Educational Outreach**: Organize and participate in educational events, book fairs, and workshops to showcase the company's children's books and build brand awareness.
- **Professional Development**: Stay informed about developments in children's literature, educational methods, and sales techniques through training and professional development opportunities.
**REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS**

Education and Experience Requirements:
