Job Title: Senior Automation Test EngineerExperience: 7+ Years | RemoteStart Date: ASAPJob Description: For our Power BI-based projects, we require a software tester proficient with data analytics.
The consultant would have the following key responsibilities:Review reporting requirements to define test scopeDevelop and execute manual and automated test cases for Power BI dashboards, DAX logic, and data pipelinesValidate report data against source systems (e.g.
using SQL queries, Power BI desktop etc.)Verify the correctness and consistency of KPIs, calculations, and visualizationsPerform UI/UX testing on Power BI reports (layout, interactivity, filters)Participate in UAT sessions with business users and gather feedbackCollaborate with developers to report, track, and resolve defectsTest row-level security (RLS) and user access scenariosCreate and maintain QA documentation and artefacts (test plans, test cases, checklists, data validation logs)Assist with maintaining Power BI documentation and artefacts (e.g.
Reports mapping to source, DAX formulas definitions/logic)Contribute to test strategy improvements and QA best practices, especially relating to data analytics testingSpecific experience and skills for Power BI testerIn addition to the above generic requirements, the following specific skills and experience are expected for a software tester for Power BI-based applications:Strong understanding of data testing and/or BI report validationProficiency in SQL (joins, aggregations, data comparisons)Overall/basic understanding of Power BI Desktop, including data modeling and DAXExperience testing Power BI Service (publishing, RLS, refreshes)Familiarity with manual test case design and executionAbility to interpret and test business logic and KPIsThe software tester shall have the following essential and desirable experience and skills:A minimum of seven (7) years of experience using a disciplined approach for planning, designing, executing and reporting on software testing.A minimum of four (4) years of experience working in an Agile software development environment.A minimum of four (4) years of experience using Microsoft Azure Dev Ops or equivalent to support software testing;A minimum of three (3) years of automating test cases using tools like Selenium Web Driver(C#), JMeter, Soap UI, etc.Experience with several types of software testing (e.g.
functional, performance, security, etc.);Hands-on working experience creating test cases, test plans, test reports;Experience in working in a small-sized software development team (2 to 4 persons) and working independently;A strong understanding of software architecture and network technologies that facilitates white-box testing, including security testing, will be considered an assetISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) certification or equivalent will be considered an assetEducation:University degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field (e.g., quality assurance or another technical discipline).
