About the Role:

Nestaway is hiring a Legal Counsel to support its city-level operations in Bengaluru. This role will work closely with sales, operations, HR, and finance teams, while coordinating with the central legal department. We're looking for a candidate who is fluent in Kannada (read, write, speak) and can independently manage legal responsibilities on-ground.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the legal point of contact for Nestaway's commercial team in Bengaluru
  • Advise internal teams on legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Handle civil/criminal litigation, cheque bounce cases, arbitration, and other legal disputes in coordination with external counsel
  • Provide legal support to the city's sales, operations, HR, and finance functions
  • Occasionally manage contract drafting, vetting, and review
  • Liaise with the central legal team to escalate issues and ensure timely resolutions
  • Conduct legal and compliance training sessions for local teams
  • Report to the Associate Director – Legal

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar legal counsel role
  • Strong understanding of civil and criminal procedures
  • Prior exposure to real estate, rental, or commercial legal matters is a plus
  • Fluent in Kannada (reading, writing, and speaking is mandatory)
  • Must be based in Bangalore or willing to relocate
  • Comfortable working on-site from our HSR Layout office
