Job Description

- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including agreements for sales, procurement, and partnerships.

- Provide legal advice and support to internal business teams on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation strategies.

- Ensure adherence to local and international laws, especially in the life science and biotechnologies sectors.

- Manage disputes and liaise with external counsel when necessary.

- Conduct legal research and provide updates on relevant legislative changes that impact the business.

- Support the development and implementation of internal policies and processes to enhance legal compliance.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on legal matters.

- Assist in corporate governance and company secretarial matters as required.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal Counsel (Commercial) should have:

- A degree in law from a recognised university, with a specialisation in commercial or corporate law preferred.

- Experience in handling contracts, regulatory compliance, and legal advisory in a corporate setting.

- Knowledge of legal frameworks applicable to the life science and biotechnologies industries.

- Proficiency in legal drafting and negotiation skills.

- Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail.

- Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
