Position: Assistant Manager Sales Location: Autoneum India (AIND) Pune Function: Sales & Business Development Reports To: Manager Sales AIND Job Purpose: The Assistant Manager Sales is responsible for managing and expanding commercial sales operations with OEM customers, ensuring business growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The role involves maintaining strong relationships with key OEMs, leading commercial negotiations, handling RFQs, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet customer and organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities: · Manage assigned OEM sales accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, profitability, and long-term partnerships. · Handle commercial discussions, price negotiations, cost breakdowns, and business proposals with customers. · Lead and coordinate RFQ processes, including cost analysis, quote preparation, and submission. · Monitor and support customer program activities from acquisition to production phase, ensuring alignment with business goals. · Ensure accurate and timely commercial documentation, price updates, and change management. · Collaborate with internal teams such as Engineering, Program Management, and Finance to meet customer requirements and resolve issues. · Manage payment follow-ups, price settlements, and recovery of receivables in coordination with Finance. · Track and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and new business opportunities. · Maintain compliance with Autoneum’s commercial policies and ethical business standards. · Support management in achieving business targets and developing long-term sales strategies. Core Experience Requirements: Mandatory: · Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (BE Mechanical). · 7–8 years of experience in automotive Tier-1 sales, preferably within a multinational organization. · Proven experience managing at least two OEM accounts Volkswagen India or Mahindra & Mahindra (mandatory) and at least one additional OEM such as Tata Motors or Hyundai . · Strong exposure to commercial negotiations, RFQ management, and customer price management. · Experience in cost analysis, quotation handling, and change management. · Excellent understanding of automotive commercial processes and OEM standards. Optional but Valuable: · Experience in NVH or automotive component sales (interiors, acoustics, or related). · Familiarity with ERP, CRM tools, and pricing databases. · Exposure to global or regional customer coordination. · Knowledge of basic financial metrics (e.G., contribution margin, tooling recovery). Functional & Technical Competencies: Mandatory: · Language: English (fluent, written and spoken). · Tools: MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). · Systems: ERP Knowledge, CRM or equivalent tools. · Commercial Skills: Pricing, RFQ management, cost estimation, and customer communication. · Analytical Skills: Data interpretation for pricing and sales trends. · Coordination: Cross-functional collaboration with technical, finance, and program teams. Optional but Valuable: · Presentation and negotiation skills with senior customer representatives. · Knowledge of OEM-specific commercial procedures and systems (e.G., VW Group or M&M portals). · Basic understanding of production planning and supply chain interfaces. Education & Qualification: · Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is mandatory. · MBA in Marketing or International Business is desirable. Behavioral Competencies: · Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. · Commercially astute with high negotiation capability. · Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented approach. · Proactive, customer-focused, and result-driven mindset. · Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global and regional teams.
