Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head Design to lead Keemti 's design and product development function. This role demands a strong aesthetic sense, a keen eye for trends, leadership skills, and an understanding of the commercial viability of designs. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping the design philosophy and driving the brands creative direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Direction & Design Leadership:
    Lead end-to-end design strategy, ensuring alignment with brand vision and customer needs. Develop unique, saleable, and trend-setting jewellery collections in gold, diamonds, and precious/semi-precious stones.
  • Team Management:
    Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of designers and product developers. Provide design direction, review outputs, and ensure timely delivery of collections.
  • Product Development:
    Oversee the prototyping process with internal teams and vendors. Ensure high-quality execution of samples and final products.
  • Trend Research & Market Analysis:
    Stay ahead of global jewellery trends, materials, techniques, and customer preferences. Conduct regular market research and competitor benchmarking.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with merchandising, marketing, and retail teams for collection planning, go-to-market strategy, and launch execution.
  • Vendor & Artisan Management:
    Liaise with manufacturing units and vendors for design feasibility, technical detailing, and production scalability.
  • Visual Merchandising & Styling:
    Support visual merchandising efforts for store launches and marketing campaigns. Drive innovation in product presentation and packaging.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Jewellery Design / Accessory Design / Product Design from NIFT, NID, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in jewellery design, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to create commercially successful and aesthetically appealing collections.
  • Expertise in gold, diamond, and gemstone jewellery design for both Indian and international markets.
  • Strong network within the jewellery industry and exposure to vendor management.
  • Excellent understanding of customer preferences in mid to high-value jewellery segments.
  • Proficiency in design tools (CAD, Rhino, Illustrator) and hand sketching.
  • Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
