Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical
Credit Analyst
to join our NBFC (P2P Fintech) division. The role involves evaluating borrowers' creditworthiness, assessing financial data, analyzing risks, and recommending lending decisions to ensure sound portfolio quality and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze credit data, financial statements, and other relevant information to determine borrower risk profiles.
  • Assess loan applications, repayment capacity, and credit history in line with company policies.
  • Conduct due diligence on individuals, SMEs, and other borrower categories.
  • Prepare detailed credit appraisal reports and recommendations for approval/rejection.
  • Monitor existing loan accounts and identify early warning signals of stress.
  • Collaborate with business and risk teams to develop credit scoring models and lending frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines, internal credit policies, and P2P lending regulations.
  • Support automation and digitization of credit evaluation processes.
  • Provide insights for portfolio performance improvement and risk minimization.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience as a Credit Analyst in NBFC, Bank, Fintech, or P2P lending platform.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk assessment, financial ratios, and lending practices.
  • Familiarity with RBI NBFC/P2P guidelines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MIS reporting, and credit evaluation tools.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.

Preferred Background

  • Experience in retail lending, SME lending, or P2P fintech credit evaluation.
  • Exposure to credit underwriting and digital credit scoring systems.
