Amazon’s Worldwide Capacity Planning team is seeking a Learning and Development (L&D) Program Manager to manage and develop scalable, innovative learning solutions for their 700+ employees globally. The responsibilities include but are not limited to building short- and long-term learning strategies, building awareness of Flourish (the L&D platform) program offerings, communicating program improvements and updates, conducting needs analysis, collaborating with stakeholders and business leaders, and working with learning experience designers and subject matter experts to develop or modify programs that impact our new and existing employees. Building strong working relationships with leaders and key stakeholder groups, the Learning Program Manager will continually dive deep to understand the learning needs, using data and insights into the business to identify learning methods, materials, or technology that will support the learning experience which is scalable.
This is a new role where you will not find a structured process in place and will require a person who is self-motivated to bring positive change in an ambiguous environment.
A day in the life
•Lead end-to-end learning program management including content management, benchmarking, implementation, communication, analytics and reporting.
•Continuously measure and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the learning solutions; work to revise content/modality to address specific feedback.
•Proactively drive change and continuous development; explore new learning solutions that support employees to accelerate developing their knowledge and capabilities in pursuit of business outcomes and/or goals.
•Build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional business partners at all levels, to uncover and support learning priorities.
•Collect, analyze, and communicate learning program metrics to measure the performance and impact of programs.
•In partnership with learning business partners, use data, and stakeholder inputs to conduct a needs analysis that identifies the key behaviors, knowledge, and capabilities employees need to develop.
•Experience in designing and developing training materials in all modalities, including ILT, eLearning, video scripts, Articulate Storyline, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Qualification & Skills Required
•5+ years total work experience, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Learning & Development or related discipline.
•Bachelor’s degree, advanced university studies, or equivalent experience.
•Program management skills, including managing details, and keeping multiple tasks/projects on track.
•Excellent verbal, business writing, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence peers and senior leaders using data and metrics.
•Ability to deliver independently, with limited guidance; self-starter, strong drive, a bias for action, and result-oriented by continuously thinking big.
•Enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment by leading through ambiguity when business problems or program strategies may not be well-defined.
Preferred Skills
•A formal qualification and/or certificate in project management and/or change management.
•Masters in a relevant field such as education, training and development, leadership, instructional design, human resources, organizational development.
•Proven experience and expertise leading learning programs within a global, fast-paced, corporate, customer-driven environment.
•A problem-solver that increases the speed of delivery by negotiating resources and priorities, and making trade-offs between short-term needs vs. long-term needs.
