Job Responsibilities
The position will be responsible for
• Developing and implementing the optimal capital structure and corporate structure to achieve the short-, medium- and long-term strategy for Azure Power in alignment with the vision of firm stakeholders, executive management and investors adapting to the competitive landscape.
• Structuring and raising non-recourse or limited recourse capital such as equity, hybrid capital and structured credit.
• Oversee strategic capital initiatives, in collaboration with the GCFO, CEO and the board. Devise a robust capital allocation process for new projects and initiatives to support medium- and long-term strategy.
• Inorganic Growth strategy for the company, to unlock opportunities for Azure Power. Evaluate potential partnerships, acquisitions, and market expansion strategies to drive sustainable growth.
• Conducting market analyses and collaborating with the executive team to identify new business avenues.
• Pre-evaluate capex investment proposals for new projects as well as operational projects.
• Pre-evaluate capex / opex for new initiatives (organization wide)
• Develop and maintain corporate level financial models to support investment and financing decisions.
• Conduct asset and portfolio valuations
• Ability to coordinate on behalf of the company with external parties such as transaction advisors, shareholders, due diligence consultants, and other such party
Experience
• Up to 15 years of overall work experience. Minimum 5 years of M&A, equity capital transactions and corporate structuring is a must.
• Proven M&A and equity raising transaction experience within last 5 years
• Experience of preparing proposals for board / IC / CEO
• Experience of seeking approvals from the board / IC in line with company policy and sound corporate finance principles
• Investment / Corporate Finance experience in the power / infrastructure sector
Education Background & Skills
• Graduate with corporate finance / investment professional qualification viz. CFA, MBA, master’s in finance.
• Understanding of power sector in India preferably renewables market. Knowledge about Accounting, Finance, Capital Structure & Valuation
• Independent, self-starter, team-oriented and confident in his or her abilities.
• Time management, highly analytical, execution mindset and attention to detail
• A team-player with ability to deal with multiple stake holders and cross functional teams
• Excellent communication skills – written, oral and presentation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint
