We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join our Mechanical team in the role of JE/AE at our Kharagpur Plant- RVPL.
The Utilities section in a cold rolling mill plays a crucial supporting role, ensuring the continuous and efficient supply of essential services (like compressed air, water, power, steam, and sometimes specialized gases) required for the mill's operation. Heres a typical job description for roles in the Utilities section of a cold rolling mill:
Job Title: Utilities Technician / Utility Operator (Cold Rolling Mill)
Key Responsibilities
- Operation & Monitoring: Operate and monitor all utility systems that support the cold rolling mill, including compressors, pumps, HVAC systems, water treatment units, and emergency power supplies.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of utility equipment, promptly identify and address mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic faults to minimize downtime.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and plant protocols related to the operation and maintenance of utilities. Maintain environmental and quality standards as per plant and regulatory requirements.
- Recordkeeping & Reporting: Maintain logs, records, and reports of utility system performance, maintenance activities, faults, and corrective measures.
- Emergency Response: Respond rapidly to breakdowns or malfunctions of utility systems, initiate corrective actions, and communicate status and recommendations to supervisors/management.
- Technical Assistance: Provide technical input and support for utility-related projects and upgrades within the cold rolling mill.
Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma mechanical
- 2-6 years of experience in industrial utility systems (experience in steel/metals or cold rolling mills is a plus)
- Good understanding of pumps, compressors, HVAC systems, water treatment, electrical panels, and their maintenance
- Ability to read technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
- Basic proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software
