We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join our Mechanical team in the role of JE/AE at our Kharagpur Plant- RVPL.
The Utilities section in a cold rolling mill plays a crucial supporting role, ensuring the continuous and efficient supply of essential services (like compressed air, water, power, steam, and sometimes specialized gases) required for the mill's operation. Job Title: Utilities Technician / Utility Operator (Cold Rolling Mill)
Key Responsibilities:
The Junior/Assistant Engineer (JE/AE) Utilities is responsible for managing the efficient operation and maintenance of gas plant equipment such as ammonia crackers, nitrogen plants, compressors, propane and ammonia storage systems, while ensuring consistent gas availability within the plant and optimizing energy usage.
The role involves reducing specific power consumption below the desired levels.
The candidate will contribute to sustainability and process innovation initiatives such as the commissioning of Indias first Green Hydrogen Plant, waste heat recovery systems, and a new hydrogen plant setup.
They are also responsible for EHS compliance with a target audit score of 95%, implementing Kaizen and improvement suggestions quarterly, and fostering learning by attending external summits and certified energy programs.
The role includes managing preventive maintenance and AMC for water treatment systems, handling plumbing complaints, overseeing drain and sewage cleaning, and ensuring water quality for critical facilities.
Coordination with internal teams, vendors, and senior leadership is essential to align operations with organizational sustainability and performance goals.
