Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production & Operations Management

  2. Plan, organize, and oversee daily production activities to meet quantity, quality, and delivery targets.

  3. Supervise the operation of machinery

  4. Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) and lean manufacturing practices.

  5. Quality Assurance

  6. Ensure product quality as per internal standards and customer specifications.

  7. Liaise with the Quality Control team to monitor inputs, process controls, and finished goods testing.

  8. Conduct root cause analysis of defects and implement corrective actions.

  9. Plant Maintenance & Safety

  10. Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of machinery and utilities.

  11. Ensure compliance with safety norms (electrical, fire, chemical handling) and statutory requirements under the Factories Act, TNPCB, etc.

  12. Promote a culture of workplace safety and 5S implementation.

  13. Inventory & Materials Management

  14. Coordinate with the stores and purchase departments for raw material (foam scrap, binders, additives) planning.

  15. Monitor consumption vs. yield to ensure optimal resource utilization and cost control.

  16. Team Management

  17. Lead and manage a team of supervisors, operators, contract labour, and maintenance personnel.

  18. Ensure shift discipline, manpower planning, and skill development through periodic training.

  19. Compliance & Documentation

  20. Ensure compliance with local labour laws, ESI, PF, factory licensing, and TNPCB norms.

  21. Maintain documentation for production, maintenance, material movement, and statutory inspections.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical/Production Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and process improvement skills
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and production reporting tools
