Job Title: Head of Business Development- Sweeteners Category
Location: Gurugram/ Bangalore/ Mumbai
Job Description:
As a Head of Business Development for the Sweeteners category at Absolute, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth and expanding our presence within key accounts in the Indian food manufacturing industry.
You will be responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with clients operating in Bakery, Confectionery, Dairy, and Beverage segments, leveraging our comprehensive range of stabilizers and emulsifiers.
Key Responsibilities:
Key Account Development: Identify, engage, and cultivate strategic partnerships with key accounts in target segments to drive revenue growth and margin expansion.
Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and opportunities for product differentiation within the category. Develop a clear map of product wise market size, applications, potential buyers, existing suppliers and directional movement of the market in the near future.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a strong understanding of technical and quality specifications for the product range, and effectively communicate the advantages to the prospective clients. Collect the market requirement feedback and translate it into evolved sourcing plans.
Customized Solutions: Collaborate closely with clients to understand their need of customized formulations and translate it to the inhouse product development team and lead the co-application journey with client and internal team.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including R&D, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of products and services to clients.
Own the Profit & Loss: Take complete accountability of scaling not only the revenues but deliver sustainable margins by owning the entire journey from Prospect Identification to Order conversion to Collections.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Proven track record of success in business development and key account management within the food ingredient industry, preferably with experience in Sweeteners.
Strong technical acumen with a deep understanding of food manufacturing processes and applications.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence across diverse stakeholders.
Results-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
