Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Big Data Developer with strong expertise in Apache Spark, Scala, and Linux to join our dynamic data engineering team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain big data pipelines and solutions that support large-scale data processing and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Apache Spark and Scala.
  • Write efficient, reusable, and well-tested code for data ingestion, transformation, and analysis.
  • Optimize Spark jobs for performance and resource utilization.
  • Work extensively on Linux environments for deployment, automation, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot big data workflows and pipelines.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance standards are maintained.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to best practices in big data development.

Required Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Apache Spark (core, SQL, streaming) and Scala programming.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems (shell scripting, command-line tools, performance tuning).
  • Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop (HDFS, YARN), Kafka, Hive, and HBase is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is beneficial.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices.
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
