Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and performance-driven
Area Sales Manager (ASM)
to manage our sales operations in Chennai. The ideal candidate must have a
minimum of 10 years' experience in the FMCG food sector
, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in
spices/masala products
.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive primary and secondary sales in the assigned territory (Chennai and nearby markets).
  • Handle distributor and retailer network expansion and management.
  • Develop sales strategies to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Territory Sales Officers/Executives.
  • Plan and execute trade promotions, new product launches, and retail visibility initiatives.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends; provide timely feedback to the management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing, and commercial terms.
  • Submit regular reports and analysis on territory performance.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience
    in FMCG food sales.
  • Strong experience in masala/spices product sales is highly preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of Chennai and Tamil Nadu retail/wholesale markets.
  • Proven experience in managing distributor and retail networks.
  • Fluent in
    Tamil and English
    ; Hindi is an added advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline (MBA preferred).
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
