About the Role

As an Engineer in our Home Loans Domain, you’ll play a key role in helping to make great Home Loan experiences possible by reliably providing easy to use product and services. You will ensure Home Lending Systems Stability and Availability. Focusing on Incident, Problem and Change Management. You will work closely with squad members to ensure outcomes meet customer expectations.

What will your day look like?


As a Support Engineer, you are expected to monitor Service Level Objectives, analyze and build enhancements for continuous improvement and triage issues with affected business stakeholders to identify solutions to restore productivity, sometimes working after-hours to support critical applications. Focus on long term performance, resilience, and scalability of systems taking a forward view to ensure new features and users have a predictable and acceptable impact on the quality of service.
When things are failing scramble and apply equal energy to all problems. For a Support & Operations Engineer understanding the business value associated with technology services allows better prioritization of return to service effort.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Attention to Detail: Precision is crucial when identifying and resolving defects.

Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyse complex problems, trace issues, and understand underlying causes.

Patience and Perseverance: Fixing defects can be tedious and require persistence.

Strong Debugging Skills: Expertise in using debugging tools and techniques to identify and fix issues efficiently. 

Knowledge of the Codebase: Deep understanding of the existing code (Python) and architecture. Quick learner

Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication to explain issues and solutions and collaborate with other team members.

Experience with Maintenance Tasks: Familiarity with tasks such as updating dependencies, optimizing performance, and ensuring system reliability.

Proactiveness: Ability to anticipate potential issues and address them before they become critical.

Documentation Skills: Keeping thorough records of issues, fixes, and maintenance tasks.

Team Collaboration: Willingness to work closely with other engineers, QA teams, and stakeholders.

Has held jobs in stints of 3+ years

Prior experience of enterprise working environments and longer release cycles (weeks not days)
