Java Full-Stack Engineering Manager

Wellness360 is seeking an experienced and dynamic Java Full-Stack Engineering Manager to lead our growing development team. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in Java full-stack development with strong leadership skills to drive innovation and deliver high-quality software solutions.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of 8-10 full-stack Java developers
  • Build qualitative scalable quality applications.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery and quality
  • Collaborate with product managers to define technical requirements and roadmaps
  • Implement and refine agile development processes by running the sprint planning & grooming sessions.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support career development of team members
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding of new engineers
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and best practices
  • Manage project budgets and resources effectively & efficiently to get best of the team. 
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and code reviews
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years of full-stack development( any UI technologies & Java/Spring  is a preferred backend)  experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Framework, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular)
  • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design & having RPC/GRPC knowledge. 
  • Proficiency in SQL(Mysql is preferred) and NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing the team and co-ordination of offsite senior team members. 
  • Bachelors/Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with Java or equivalent tech stack with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI technologies
  • Track record of successful product launches
  • Having worked in B2B SaaS Product Launches

Case Study Assignment:

As part of the interview process, candidates will be presented with the following programming case study:


Scenario:

Your team has been tasked with developing a new microservice-based e-commerce platform. The microservice is to handle

  •  Product catalog management, 
  • User authentication & management of preferences
  • Shopping cart functionality to shop the products from catalog
  • Order processing to accept the order, process the payment 

Task:

Design and implement a proof-of-concept for two key components of this system:

  1. Create  RESTful API for product catalog management (CRUD operations)
  2. Design of data model 
  3. Shopping cart  implementation to add/remove the products
  4. Taking order and processing the order will be bonus points for the candidate consideration.

Requirements:

  • Use Java and Spring Boot for the backend
  • Implement a simple frontend using React or Angular to demonstrate the functionality
  • Use an in-memory database (e.g., H2) for data persistence and using the mysql docker would add the points to the candidacy. 
  • Include unit tests for key components
  • Provide a README with setup instructions and any assumptions made
