Hiring Database Administrator (PostgreSQL, Aurora RDS, On-Prem) to join our team at Neology PSquare TechSystems (part of Neology Inc />Number of Open Positions - 1Experience – 3 to 4 yearsIndustry - IT Product & Services and IT ConsultingEmployment Type - Full-timeWork Location - Smart City, Kochi, KeralaShift timing based on projects – typically day/evening shiftRole Overview We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with 3 to 4 years’ experience to manage and optimize our PostgreSQL databases across Amazon Aurora RDS and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and security of our database systems while supporting development and operational teams.Key Responsibilities 1) Database Management:Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases on Aurora RDS and on-prem servers. Perform upgrades, patches, and migrations between environments. 2) Performance Optimization:Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies. Optimize queries, indexes, and storage for efficiency. 3) Backup & Recovery:Design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery plans. Ensure data integrity and availability. 4) Security & Compliance:Manage user access, roles, and permissions. Implement security best practices and compliance standards. 5) Automation & Scripting:Develop scripts for automation of routine tasks. Utilize tools for monitoring and alerting. 6) Collaboration:Work closely with developers and DevOps teams to support application requirements. Provide guidance on database design and architecture. Required Skills & Qualifications 1) Technical Expertise:Strong experience with PostgreSQL administration. Hands-on experience with Amazon Aurora RDS. Knowledge of on-prem database infrastructure. 2) Additional Skills:Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and performance tuning. Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM). Experience with backup tools, replication, and high availability setups. 3) Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. 4) Preferred Qualifications:Experience with cloud migration projects. Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.G., CloudWatch, Prometheus,datadog, grafana). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Liquibase and DevOps practices.
