The Business Development Manager will be pivotal in driving revenue growth, expanding the company’s market presence, and leading a team of business development associates. This position is responsible for overseeing client acquisition strategies, managing high-value client relationships, and implementing effective sales tactics to meet and exceed revenue targets. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Business Development Manager will ensure alignment on client needs, provide insights to support product development, and coordinate impactful sales campaigns. This role combines strategic planning, leadership, and hands-on involvement in key sales activities, making it essential to scale the company's market footprint and foster lasting client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Management

- Team Oversight: Lead and mentor business development associates, providing guidance on client acquisition strategies and setting performance expectations.- Training & Development: Identify and address training needs within the team to enhance skills in client outreach, negotiation, and presentation.- Performance Monitoring: Regularly review team performance metrics, providing feedback and support to drive continuous improvement.

2. Client Acquisition & Pipeline Management

- Strategic Prospecting: Oversee and refine prospect identification strategies, ensuring a robust pipeline of qualified leads.- Pipeline Development: Monitor and manage the team’s sales pipeline to meet company growth targets and ensure the efficient movement of prospects through the sales funnel.

3. Sales Strategy & Market Expansion

- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with company objectives for market growth and revenue generation.- Market Insight: Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and potential business opportunities.- New Market Penetration: Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the company's footprint into new industries or regions.

4. Client Relationship Management

- Key Account Development: Cultivate strong relationships with high-value clients, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.- Client Retention & Growth: Develop and implement strategies to increase client retention, upselling additional services as appropriate.- Issue Resolution: Address any escalated client issues in collaboration with relevant departments to maintain long-term relationships.

5. Sales Presentations & Negotiation

- Sales Pitching: Lead high-stakes sales presentations and product demonstrations for major clients.- Contract & Pricing Strategy: Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and sales incentives, balancing client needs with company revenue goals.- Closing Deals: Oversee the closing process for key clients, ensuring all contractual and operational details are accurately documented.

6. Quotation & Offer Management

- Quotation Oversight: Review and approve quotations and proposals prepared by the team, ensuring they align with company pricing and margin targets.- Offer Strategy: Develop discount and promotional strategies to attract large clients, partnering with marketing to design impactful sales campaigns.

7. Sales Reporting & Analytics

- Data Driven Insights: Track and analyze key performance metrics, sales pipeline status, and revenue forecasts to guide decision-making.- CRM Oversight: Ensure that the team maintains up-to-date, accurate CRM records of all client interactions, activities, and sales statuses.- Executive Reporting: Prepare detailed sales reports and updates for senior management on team performance, client acquisition, and revenue projections.

8. Cross-Departmental Collaboration

- Cross-functional engagement: Coordinate with operations, marketing, and product development to ensure alignment on client needs and expectations.- Product Feedback: Provide client insights to the product team for ongoing improvement and innovation.- Campaign Execution: Work closely with the marketing team to design and launch sales campaigns that promote new product features and special offers.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience

- B2B Sales Management: 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within tech, consumer goods, or related industries.- Track Record of Success: Proven ability to drive revenue growth and exceed sales targets.

Education

Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).

Skills

- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in coaching and developing sales teams.- Sales Acumen: In-depth knowledge of sales techniques, negotiation, and closing strategies.- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market data, client needs, and sales metrics to guide decision-making.- CRM Proficiency: Experience with CRM software (e.g., Zoho CRM) to manage sales operations and team activity.- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to deliver compelling sales presentations.
