Role & responsibilities

  • Logistics & Operations: Coordinate the movement of raw materials, supplies, and finished products, ensuring they arrive on time and in good condition.
  • Route & Schedule Planning: Develop and optimize efficient shipping routes and schedules to minimize delays and fuel costs.
  • Staff Management: Oversee and manage transportation staff, including hiring, training, and ensuring they follow procedures and safety protocols.
  • Budget Management: Monitor transportation costs, prepare budgets, and implement strategies to control expenses and maximize profitability.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety policies, conduct audits, and ensure all transportation operations adhere to national and international legal regulations, such as those for hazardous materials.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Manage the maintenance and repair of the transportation fleet, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy and functional.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and complete records of all transportation activities, shipments, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison with suppliers, production managers, and transportation professionals to coordinate logistics and address issues.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track delivery times, expenses, and other key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and optimize operations.
