We are seeking a strategic and innovative Head of Internal Applications to lead our efforts in enhancing and automating our employee-facing applications used for engaging with customers as well as managing internal operations of HSL. This pivotal role will oversee the build, rollout and management of key internal systems, including CRM, ServiceNow, Contact Centre, HR, Finance and all applications used by front line sales and advisory teams to engage with customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in application management and a passion for improving the employee experience through technology.

In this role, the Head of Internal Applications will focus on streamlining critical employee journeys such as onboarding and offboarding, ensuring these processes are seamless and efficient. This includes implementing solutions that enhance the employee experience and productivity from the moment they join the organization to the time they exit the organization.

A key aspect of this role will involve building and managing applications required by front-line sales and advisory teams. By developing tailored solutions that enhance their engagement with customers, this position will enable these teams to operate more effectively and efficiently, ultimately improving overall customer experience.

Additionally, the Head of Internal Applications will oversee the development and maintenance of ServiceNow platform used for digitizing all IT related processes including asset management, asset allocation, change management, inventory reconciliation etc.

This leadership role will be crucial in aligning internal applications with broader organizational goals, fostering a culture of efficiency and innovation that supports the workforce throughout their entire journey with the company and eventually achieve the stated goal of becoming a paper-less organization.

Responsibilities

Application Development and testing

- Oversee the Development and Testing of applications for investment advisory and institutional equity teams- Oversee the Development pipeline in ServiceNow

Application Management

- Oversee the administration and continuous improvement of CRM, ServiceNow, Contact Centre, HR, and Finance applications, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the organization.- Develop and execute a comprehensive data and analytics strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.- Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

Automation Initiatives:

- Lead projects aimed at digitizing internal processes identifying opportunities to streamline processes and reduce friction in daily operations.- Lead cost reduction opportunities through automation

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

- Ensure disaster recovery plans and procedures are in place for the data platform and tools to ensure business continuity during system failures or disasters.- Ensure business uptime of Platform Infrastructure.

Vendor Management

- Evaluate and manage relationships with cloud service providers, optimising costs and leveraging new services and features.- Reviewing and defining SLA with various vendors, Managing and tracking of defined SLAs

Team Leadership

- Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.- Set clear goals and performance expectations for the team and provide regular feedback and coaching.- Build and mentor a high-performing team of application specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications, Experience & Expertise

- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or computer science, or a related field with above-average academic grades- A total of 15-20 years of experience with at least 3+ years of experience in a similar role in Financial Services sector- Strong technical background delivering digital transformation using platforms like ServiceNow, HRMS systems, Finance Systems, Cloud platforms- Experience of managing largescale internal process transformation cutting across processes in IT, HR, Finance and Operations- Experience is driving cost optimization initiatives- Deep understanding about regulatory landscape in India- Strong engineering management background with expertise in application and infrastructure architecture, process automation, and project delivery- Strong leadership and team management skills.- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.- Prior experience in building and leading data engineering and analytics teams

Location

The role is based in our office at MIDC Andheri in Mumbai. We do support flexible timings for fostering a balance between in-person collaboration and the convenience of tailoring work hours to individual needs.
