Job Description
Position Objective

The Hardware Team Leader is responsible for hardware design and technical solutions development for new products and technical improvement for existing projects in the Home Appliances industry. The role requires leading hardware projects throughout the Project Implementation Process (PIP).

Job Activities
  • Develop, change, and adapt hardware solutions for Home Appliances industry products. Lead hardware projects through the entire Project Implementation Process (PIP).
  • Solve hardware-related issues with customers and suppliers in close cooperation with the Project Leader and other disciplines and subsidiaries within the organization.
  • Assemble and test new circuits as necessary.
  • Provide technical support for project sample construction and testing.
  • Perform DFMEAs and CFMEAs, and support PFMEA, SFMEA, DfM, DfT, and DfP processes. Conduct Worst Case Circuit Analysis and circuit simulations.
  • Support and resolve all EMC/EMI-related issues for the projects.
  • Perform verification tests for new circuits and prototypes.
  • Support and audit PCB design for technical projects focused on EMC/EMI and safety compliance.
  • Create and coordinate/execute verification test plans for new and existing projects.
  • Participate in quotation processes, providing technical concepts, Bill of Materials (BoM), and engineering efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Validation department for defining testing parameters, setups, and criteria.

Requirements Required Knowledge

  • Design of analog and digital circuits
  • Design of Switch Mode Power Supplies
  • Design of Power Electronics using relays and triacs
  • Design of communication protocols like RS232, RS484, USB, I2C, CAN, etc.
  • Knowledge of electronic components including derating and stress analysis
  • Design for complying with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) regulations
  • Design of cost-sensitive products for high volume production
  • Display technologies like LED, VFD, LCD, TFT, etc.
  • HMI technologies like membrane switches, capacitive touch, piezo, etc.
  • Verification and validation testing of PCBAs
  • IPC design guidelines
  • Use of CAD/CAE tools and software
  • Design processes like DfM, FMEA, SPICE
  • North American agency standards for household and similar electrical appliances like UL 60335, UL60730, etc.
  • European agency standards for household and similar electrical appliances like IEC 60335, IEC 60730, etc.
  • Business fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written)

Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering / Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) preferred.

Management System Responsibilities and Authority

  • Design and coordinate hardware projects aligned with internal procedures, guidelines, and company policies.

  • Comply with environmental operational criteria and respond to emergencies.
  • Fulfill responsibilities established in environmental management documentation.

  • Report detected risks and unsafe conditions immediately to EHS or supervisors.

  • Treat IT equipment with care and report security incidents or potential risks to local IT department immediately.
  • Follow instructions for communication equipment.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Proven experience in continuous improvement, process optimization, and project management. Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other relevant improvement methodologies is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and guide teams. Proficiency in data analysis tools and project management software. Working Conditions: This role may require occasional travel to various company locations or partner organizations. Flexible work hours to accommodate project needs and deadlines. The position may involve occasional extended work hours during critical project phases.
