JOB PURPOSE

The Lead BA Digital Experience will be supporting the analysis of complex cross functional and pan organization requirements, while capturing, validating and documenting business and system requirements and making sure that they are in line with key strategic principles. The role primarily focus to improve the journey in the areas of Digitization (apps and portals) and also in the area of Customer support and service. Day to day tasks will consist of activities in relation to the business requirements solution design, validation of solution, supporting UAT and change adoption for programme and /or projects. S/he will be accountable for providing mocks/wireframes for the digital touchpoints. The role is about managing business needs and then mapping them to capabilities within the Experience domain.

The Lead will work closely with business partners in Africa OpCO's, HQ-IT and IT Partners in Airtel Africa performing the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to the delivery of projects in respective domain relevant to Airtel IT transformation programs.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The Expert is responsible for:

  • Requirement Elicitation- Collaborate with stakeholders, including business users, management, and SMEs to gather detailed business requirements.
  • Use various elicitation techniques such as brainstorming, document analysis, and prototyping to uncover requirements.
  • Requirement Analysis- Analyze and prioritize business requirements to ensure they align with business objectives and project goals.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and conflicts in requirements and work with stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Documentation- Create comprehensive documentation, including BRS, Use Cases, and Process Flow Diagrams
  • Stakeholder Management- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to facilitate effective communication and ensure shared understanding of requirements.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to communicate findings, project updates, and recommendations.
  • Solution Design and Implementation- Collaborate with architecture team to translate business requirements into functional specs and technical requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input to ensure solution align with business requirements.


  • Testing and Quality Assurance- Review testcases and execute test scripts to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Conduct UAT and gather feedback to refine and improve solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement- Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance business performance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies.
  • Training and Support- Provide support and training to stakeholders on new systems, processes and tools.
  • Act as a point of contact for post-implementation support and troubleshooting.

Competencies

  • Have a deep understanding of the Telco IT domain as well as a broad architecture understanding for IT in a telecom environment.
  • Visualization of the problem to come with best user interface.
  • Have a solid background in understanding and translating business demand to IT Solution design and applying multiple technical solutions to business problems.
  • Experience in Banking and Financial services is a Good to Have.
  • Be well-versed with micro services, APIs.
  • Be a believer in Open-Source environment to develop software solutions.
  • S/he should have specific skills and knowledge:
  • Leadership skills with ability to manage direction for Application domain experts at OpCOs/Partner.
  • People-oriented, with the ability to lead meetings with software development managers, developers, architects as well as product managers.
  • Structured approach to work, with the ability to plan, and organize larger activities.
  • Clear in communication, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to assess the value from functions and capabilities of new technologies finding appropriate technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree (Engineering or Computer Science)
  • Minimum 8 - 12 years’ relevant experience in telecommunication/other relevant industry
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle(SDLC) and technical project management.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and business analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experience of using collaboration tools – JIRA, Confluence.
  • Positive outlook with a can-do mindset.
  • Strong understanding of the agile landscape and a passion for building innovative & ROI-positive marketing programs at scale.
