Winding Engineer

The incumbent will design and develop innovative winding process solutions tailored to customers in the electric motor manufacturing industry. This role focuses on creating and delivering automated and scalable winding systems that enable high-volume production while maintaining superior product quality. The engineer will work closely with customers to align solutions with their technical and operational needs and ensure the seamless integration of equipment into their production environments.

: Enhance equipment design and processes to drive operational efficiency and product quality.
Job ResponsibilitiesProcess Design and DevelopmentDesign winding processes suitable for high-volume electric motor manufacturing.Specify winding parameters, such as coil configurations, materials, and insulation requirements, based on customer needs.Develop process documentation, including workflows, specifications, and operation manuals.Equipment Development and IntegrationCollaborate with in-house engineering teams to design and develop automated winding equipment.Define tooling and fixtures for specific winding applications.Oversee equipment trials, fine-tuning the process for optimal performance and reliability.Customer EngagementWork closely with customers to understand their manufacturing requirements and challenges.Provide technical advice and recommendations for process improvement and production scalability.Conduct on-site commissioning of winding equipment and provide training to customer teams.Quality AssuranceImplement quality control standards to ensure processes meet customer and industry specifications.Perform testing and validation to confirm process reliability and output quality.Address and resolve any quality-related issues during and post-implementation.Research and InnovationStay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in electric motor manufacturing.Explore and integrate advancements in materials, automation, and robotics into winding solutions.Collaboration and Project ManagementWork as part of a cross-functional team, including design, production, and service departments.Manage project timelines and deliverables to meet customer expectations and deadlines.
Qualification and Experience5+ years of work experience in winding processes, motor manufacturing, or equipment development.Hands-on experience with automated winding machines is preferred.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Certifications: Certifications in process engineering, automation, or motor design are advantageous.
Desired SkillsThe ideal candidate possesses the following skills and can demonstrate through their work experienceIn-depth knowledge of electric motor winding techniques and equipment.Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools for process design.Familiarity with automation technologies, robotics, and PLC programming.Analytical skills to address complex manufacturing challenges.Ability to engage with customers and translate their needs into effective solutions.Precision in design, testing, and documentation.Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and training.Experience managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.Eagerness to explore and implement new technologies for process efficiency and scalability.
