Audience & Problem

  • Targeting the enormous and growing pool of over 100 million affluent individuals.
  • No easy way for them to create scholarships; in memory of a loved one, in gratitude or in support of their mission.
  • Youth will represent a quarter of humanity in 15 years; 90% will come from developing or under-represented backgrounds.
  • Traditional education loans are punitive, inaccessible, or insufficient for most.
  • A need to reimagine scholarships as a powerful way to bridge the education & career mobility gap. 


Solution

  • Enable affluent individuals to easily create named scholarships.
  • Foster family/group involvement in its creation, funding & management.
  • Source, verify and profile high-calibre students for better matching.
  • Shift scholarship focus away from “charity” and towards the “personal gratification” experienced in spotting and developing promising talent.
  • A high-interaction "LinkedIn for students & supporters" for networking & career success.
  • Tap into a $100Mn p.a. revenue opportunity with a talent marketplace that connects promising students with seasoned achievers globally. 


Your Role

  • Build early sales-traction to bring this vision to life.
  • Shape the digital sales, referral and retention P&L.
  • Own the roadmap to sustainably reduce acquisition costs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Hands-on lead generation and conversions in initial days.
  • Make strategic decisions on lead-generation, sales messaging, tools and pricing to deliver top-line growth.
  • Manage a small customer-acquisition budget initially. Frugality in proving your ability to think & execute will ensure more budgets & resources.
  • Partner with product, operations and technology to translate business needs into a profitable sales sourcing and conversion engine.
  • Recruit and manage a driven young sales team that is inspired to put their talent for insight-driven selling to create impact at scale.


What We're Looking For

  • Digital Sales Expertise: in using tools and methods to generate leads, optimise metrics, digital messaging, rapid testing, managing budgets and closing sales.
  • Experience: Around 5 years, along with exceptional academic and professional credentials.
  • Start-up experience: customer discovery, early-stage selling and hiring / team building at high growth consumer start-ups will be preferred.

Location

  • Initially remote.
  • 12 - 18 months: must be willing to relocate for working from Bengaluru.
