Job Title: Head – Bidding, & Tendering Location: Bengaluru Reporting To: Board Note: It is not a Supply Chain Opportunity Position Overview: The Head – Bidding, Tendering & Contracts Proposal will be responsible for leading the entire lifecycle of bid management, tendering, and proposal development across business verticals, including Telecom, Smart City, ICT, Data Centre, Railways, and Turnkey Infrastructure Projects. The role demands strategic leadership, cross-functional coordination, and deep domain understanding to drive successful bid outcomes and optimize commercial value while ensuring compliance with all client and statutory requirements. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Bid Management Lead end-to-end bid, tender, and proposal processes from pre-qualification to submission and award. Develop and implement bid strategies aligned with company business goals and market trends. Identify and qualify opportunities through tender portals, client interactions, and market intelligence. Evaluate bid feasibility, risks, and profitability before management submission for go/no-go decisions. 2. Tendering & Proposal Development Prepare high-quality technical and commercial proposals ensuring alignment with client requirements and specifications. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Projects, SCM, Finance, Legal, HR, etc.) for inputs, cost estimation, and document preparation. Ensure timely submission of tenders, with complete documentation as per RFP/RFQ/RFI requirements. Develop standard templates, costing models, and bid repositories for efficiency and accuracy. 3. Contracts & Commercials Review contract terms and conditions to identify commercial, legal, and operational risks. Negotiate favorable terms with clients and consortium partners to safeguard company interests. Coordinate with legal and finance teams for contract vetting and compliance. Track contract amendments, variations, and performance clauses post-award. 4. Market Intelligence & Business Insights Analyze competitor pricing, bid strategies, and market trends to strengthen company positioning. Maintain a database of government and private tendering platforms, consultants, and key decision-makers. Develop and present periodic management reports on bidding performance, win/loss analysis, and pipeline status. 5. Leadership & Team Development Build and lead a high-performing Bidding & Tendering team. Foster collaboration and accountability across all internal departments. Mentor team members to enhance proposal writing, pricing strategy, and analytical skills. Desired Candidate Profile: Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications, or related field. MBA preferred. Experience: Minimum 18–25 years of experience in large-scale Telecom, ICT, Smart City, Railways, or Infrastructure turnkey projects, with at least 8 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of managing high-value bids (₹100 Cr+ scale) and winning strategic projects. Strong commercial acumen, contractual understanding, and stakeholder management skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities. Sound knowledge of government tendering processes (GeM, CPPP, e-procurement portals, etc.) and PPP models.
