Finance and Accounting Officer Position Type School Operations Commence Date ASAP Employment Status Permanent / Ongoing FTE/Hours per week Full Time Subject(s)/Grade Education Support Officer, Grade 4 Role Details Xavier College is seeking a Finance and Accounting Officer to join our vibrant and expanding Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager under moderate direction, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the College’s business and financial operations. This is a dynamic and varied role, suited to a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional looking to work in a purpose-driven environment. As Finance and Accounting Officer , you will: Prepare end-of-year financial statements and supporting documentation for audit. Assist the Finance Manager in budget preparation and forecasting. Support strategic planning and decision making through preparation of financial reports. Prepare of monthly BAS, annual FBT returns, and other tax compliance documents Support fee collection processes Process salary claims and reimbursements Work collaboratively with the Finance team to support the College’s financial health, compliance, and long-term sustainability For more information about the role and detailed responsibilities, please review the Position Information Document on our College website. About You To be successful in this role you will have: A Diploma or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar, and/or significant work experience in a comparable role. Strong knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, and financial legislation. A collaborative and professional approach to supporting leadership, staff and the Finance team. Ability to analyze, diagnose, design and implement solutions across a broad range of technical and operational functions Excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
