Your Role As the Finance Officer – Accounts Receivable, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of client billing, funding claims, and debtor management activities. Working closely within a small, supportive team, you’ll provide end-to-end financial support, maintain accurate records, and liaise confidently with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders — including clients, plan managers, and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). Your efforts will directly support the organisation’s mission to deliver high-quality services to individuals with disabilities, making your contribution both meaningful and impactful. Your Experience and Role Requirements You're someone who thrives in a busy, team-oriented environment and can juggle multiple priorities with a calm and proactive approach. With at least two years’ experience in a finance or accounts officer role, you're confident navigating finance systems, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring everything balances just right. You understand the importance of confidentiality, accuracy, and compassion—especially in the disability services space. To be successful in this role, you’ll need: Minimum 2 years' experience in a finance/accounts payable/receivable role Proficiency with Microsoft Office and finance database applications Australian Drivers Licence NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain) ‘NDIS Quality, Safety and You’ training (this is a free course on the NDIS website) Strong communication and time management skills A sincere commitment to supporting people with disability Bonus points if you have: Certificate IV (or higher) in Accounting and Bookkeeping NDIS claims and/or billing experience Key Responsibilities Process client invoices, ensuring accurate coding and cross-referencing of service delivery and agreement data. Manage debtor follow-ups, liaising with clients, plan nominees, plan managers, and the NDIA. Process and reconcile funding claims, investigating claim rejections and payment delays. Respond promptly to client invoice and payment queries via phone and email. Complete income account and client funding reconciliations, including variance analysis. Assist with billing data entry into accounting and CRM systems. Provide general finance and administrative support. Undertake other duties as directed by the Finance Manager.
