Job Summary : Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, International, the primary focus of the role is to manage and maintain the integrity and accuracy of the financial operations of the Oceania business – incorporating both Accounting and Commercial Finance. The role ensures timely, accurate month end reporting of operating results for Australia and New Zealand as well as ensuring that the commercial sales team is provided with financial metrics and analysis with a focus on insights and decision support. This position is solely responsible for the day to day operation of the finance and accounting control, and commercial finance functions in country. Key Accountabilities 1. Accounting  Overseeing preparation of monthly accounts and monthly reporting in adherence of generally accepted accounting principles and compliance with group accounting policies. Ensure that internal financial controls over financial reporting are implemented and operating effectively throughout the region to ensure accurate financial reporting and safeguarding of company assets Works closely with and manages the relationships and delivery of our outsourced Finance team, based in India Supervises the daily activities of Accounts Receivable team: Cash application ensuring all cash receipts are applied properly Customer credit checks completion and adherence to Glanbia AR policies Weekly reporting to both assistant controller and GB Work directly with the country manager providing him with first line finance advice and reports. Work with the CFO, International to ensure a clean and timely year end statutory audit. Accountable for ensuring payroll taxes, workers compensation and other statutory obligations and related returns are filed and paid on time. Ensure appropriate operational insurance policies are in place and sufficiently address business risks Effectively manage business change in the region through clear communication and proactive engagement with relevant stakeholders Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff Handle personnel issues for direct reports relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc. Management of budgets related to capital projects Cash flow reporting and forecasting Assist with ad hoc projects as necessary to support strategic initiatives. 2. Commercial Finance  Lead the Senior Commercial Finance Analyst to Facilitate creation of the annual plan and rolling forecasts. Design and monitor rebate and promotional plans. Prepare and distribute periodic commercial reports covering sales orders versus plans. Monitor on-going sales outlook on a monthly, quarterly & annual view. Review month end P&Ls with Regional and Country Managers. Assist in building P&Ls needed to analyze new products. Provide variance commentary for inclusion in the consolidated financial presentations. Participate in management meetings and provide analysis and commentary to resolve issues and support business decisions Manage improvement projects, develop new processes and mentor and develop staff around you. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Sound accounting, reporting and analytical skills Efficient problem solving and organizational skills with high attention to detail Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills Excellent commercial acumen Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work in a faced paced and evolving environment. Strong problem solving skills with high attention to final outcomes Excellent analytical skills; able to identify and solve complex analytical problems and draw conclusions through analysis of data in real time and on demand. Be a strong team player and demonstrate dedication to group and company goals Team management, coaching and mentoring Ability to work under pressure to meet varying deadlines and work volumes Self-motivated with initiative and performance driven Proficient with IT applications including MS Office (particularly MS Excel) Education/Experience: Degree Qualified Accountant with post degree experience working towards CA/CPA qualifications and with a strong financial discipline A working knowledge of SAP preferred Experience in managing complex stakeholders and a passion for process improvement Where and how you will work    The opportunity will be based in our Melbourne office at Mount Waverly  with hybrid working arrangements (3 days in office).
