Key Responsibilities:

  • Import LC Management:

  • Draft, review, and open Import/ Domestic Letters of Credit (LCs) in coordination with banks and purchase team.

  • Monitor LC expiry, shipment deadlines, and documentation to avoid discrepancies.

  • Ensure timely amendment, extension, and closure of LCs as required.

  • Import Documentation & Coordination:

  • Review and verify import documents (Invoices, Packing Lists, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Insurance, etc.) as per LC terms.

  • Coordinate with internal departments for smooth processing of import transactions.

  • Banking & Financing Activities:

  • Liaise with banks for LC payments and import bill settlements on maturity.

  • Arrange and monitor trade credit (buyers credit or RA Financing through suppliers credit).

  • Ensure proper utilization and reconciliation of bank NFB limits.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with RBI & FEMA guidelines in all import transactions.

  • Monitor and update the status of Bill of Entry submission with AD for settlement of outward remittances.

  • Maintain and submit relevant documentation for audit and statutory requirements.

  • MIS & Reporting:

  • Prepare regular reports on LC utilization, outstanding liabilities, and cost of funds.

  • Track and report forex exposure and support in hedging decisions if applicable.
  • Support in periodic internal and external audits related to trade finance operations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of trade finance instruments and UCP 600, ISBP, INCOTERMS.
  • Strong understanding of import procedures, banking practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills with banks, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP).
