Job Summary:

The General Manager – Business Development will be responsible for leading the organization's growth initiatives, identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue generation strategies. This role requires strategic thinking, leadership skills, and the ability to convert opportunities into long-term business success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company revenue and growth targets.
  • Identify new markets, customer segments, and partnership opportunities.
  • Build, lead, and manage the Business Development team to meet performance goals.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Negotiate and close high-value contracts and business deals.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance) to align strategies with organizational goals.
  • Provide regular business forecasts, reports, and performance reviews to senior management.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in business development processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Corporate Strategy, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of achieving business growth and revenue targets.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and market research skills.
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with clients and partners.
  • Industry knowledge (specific to (your sector, e.g., IT, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, etc.)) is an advantage.
