Role Title: Senior Network Engineer IIPosition Summary:The Global Networks - Global Wide Area Network (GWAN) Team is responsible forcreating and improving secure network services and solutions that ensure the bestexperience possible for Associates, contractors, and customers. This NetworkEngineer will be part of a team driving the delivery of Marriott’s zero trust networkroadmap via leading edge technologies including, Palo Alto Networks Prisma Access,SDWAN, Cloud Networking, and AI/ML enablement. We are looking for a critical thinkerwho embraces the goal of a fully automated network to help us deliver on our majorinitiative to transform our global wide area network, providing the foundation for Marriott’scloud first strategy.Job Responsibilities:• LAN / WAN / WiFi network design, engineering, implementation, and optimization forthe Corporate Network product, adhering to all applicable standards includingarchitecture, security, privacy, compliance, etc. with a heavy focus on global WiFinetworking.• Network service and circuit capacity management• Project planning and delivery including hardware and software specification, vendorcoordination, and full operational turnover• Change planning and run book review• Governance of third-party service providers• Level 3 escalation support for operational issues and/or outages• Collaborate with other key teams including Network Architects, Test and Certification,Information Security, Finance, Procurement, etc.• Participate in product strategy and planning• Develop and execute new initiatives to simplify, standardize, optimize, and automatethe network designs, tooling, and operations, reducing implementation cycle times,minimizing/eliminating service downtime, and optimizing performanceSkill and Experience:• 6+ years’ experience as a Network Engineer with 5 or more years in a hands-on rolethat implements engineering standards, documenting engineering designs, andparticipating in project cutovers.• Implementation of WAN, LAN, and datacenter networks with a focus onmission-critical, customer-facing applications and services• Technical Knowledge in networking (Cisco and non-Cisco) with an emphasis onsoftware defined networking (SDN), firewalls, DNS, NTP, Network Tools andManagement as well as common routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc) deployed acrosslarge global networks• Direct experience deploying and supporting Prisma Access services including FWaaSand Global Protect.• Experience designing and delivering networking service in public clouds such as AWS,Azure, AliCloud, GCP, OCI, etc• Experience designing and delivering WAN connectivity to public clouds utilizing CSPnative connect solutions as well as other service offerings to create the underlay WANfabric for the network• Experience with writing Infrastructure as a Code for Cloud network components (VPC,RT, TGW, WAN, Shared Services) as well as Firewalls as a Service, SDWAN,SSE/SASE.
