Senior Engineer – Network OperationsJob Title: Senior Engineer – Network OperationsDepartment: Engineering and OperationsLocation: MumbaiReporting: Manager OperationsJob Type: Full TimeShift: Rotational ShiftPRE-REQUISITESHands-on troubleshooting experience in Enterprise LAN/WAN environmentStrong technical subject matter expertise on the following:Cisco GSR routers and switches like Catalyst 3560/3750/4948Juniper MX series routers and switchesSDWAN – Silver Peak (Aruba/HP), Cisco Viptela, FortinetTransmission technologies like Alcatel 7750SR-c12, Alcatel 7470, ADVATechnical expertise with routing protocols (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) and switching (VLAN, Trunking, Dot1x, various flavors of STP) protocolsKnowledge of MPLS, QoS and VoIPKnowledge on SDWAN technologies using Silver Peak (Aruba/HP), Viptela and FortinetKnowledge of security technologiesKnowledge on scripting languages like PythonExcellent communications skills and must have worked with Global customers and global carriersRESPONSIBILITIESEngineers who have a passion and understanding for providing outstanding customer service. This person will be a part of a team of experts who are responsible for handling and providing network/security support, problem management, managing network performance and proactively identifying issues before they become customer affecting. This team provides 24x7 support, as well as provides training to junior engineers.Remote management and monitor Network OperationsSupport NOC 24x7 for large global clients that have a distributed LAN/WAN setupProvide Level 2 and Level 3 support for Incident Management/Ticket ResolutionCreate MOP/SOP and plan Change Management processPerform Performance Tuning of network devices and create SOPsWork with Telecommunication Service Providers to resolve escalated circuit problemsPlan and perform upgrade of firmwareWork with hardware/software vendors to resolve problemsTrain and mentor juniorsAct as an SME SPOC for certain network productsProvide technical inputs for weekly/monthly customer service review reportsAny additional task given to the incumbent from time-to-time based on business needsTRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONCCNA, CCNP, JCNIA, JNCIS, JNCIPEXPERIENCEMinimum 5 years of progressive, relevant experience and proven capability to work in a complex network environmentEDUCATIONBachelor in Engineering - Computers/Electronics/Communication or related fieldGraduate/Post Graduate in Science/Maths/IT or related streams with relevant technology experienceOTHER SKILLSGood communication skills - written as well as verbalPassion to work on core technology platformITIL process awareness
