Senior Network Engineer Position:Network Engineer Location:Ahmedabad, Gujarat Reports to:NOC Manager Employment Type:Full-TimePosition Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experiencedSeniorNetwork Engineerto join our dynamic Network Operations Center (NOC) team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced networking expertise and a strong background in troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues. This role is essential in ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of our client's network infrastructure across a variety of environments. As an Network Engineer, you will work closely with both junior engineers and senior technical teams to diagnose and resolve network problems, implement network changes, and perform routine maintenance and upgrades. You will serve as the highest level of escalation for NOC engineers and will be responsible for providing strategic solutions and technical leadership.Key Responsibilities: Advanced Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for complex network issues, including Layer 2/3 protocols, routing, switching, security, and WAN/LAN/WLAN technologies. Handle escalated tickets from L1/L2 engineers and ensure timely resolution. Network Monitoring & Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor the health and performance of the network infrastructure using network management tools. Identify and proactively resolve potential bottlenecks, outages, or network degradation. Configuration & Deployment: Lead the configuration and deployment of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access point. Ensure all configurations adhere to industry best practices and security policies. Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis: Drive incident response during major network outages or service disruptions, coordinating with internal teams and vendors to restore service. Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes to prevent recurrence. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting steps. Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on complex technical issues. Security & Compliance: Ensure that the network infrastructure is secured and compliant with industry standards and organizational policies. Work with security teams to identify and mitigate network security vulnerabilities. Collaboration with Other Teams: Work closely with other technical teams (e.g., Systems, Security, Application, and Support) to provide integrated solutions to network-related problems. Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers for hardware support and issue resolution. Change Management: Participate in change management processes by providing risk assessments, impact analysis, and support for network changes and upgrades. Required Qualifications: Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years in a network operations or NOC role. Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) or equivalent certifications required (e.g., Juniper JNCIP, Arista ACE, etc.). CompTIA Network+ and/or Security+ certifications are a plus. Additional vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, etc.) are beneficial. Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and other networking protocols. Expertise with routing and switching (e.g., Cisco IOS, Junos, Arista EOS, etc.). Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS). Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.). Strong understanding of WAN technologies, including MPLS, SD-WAN, and VPN tunneling. Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. Knowledge of network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting) is desirable. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
