Job title - Senior Network-IPTX Engineer – BangaloreLocation - Bangalore, IndiaWe are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic infrastructure team based in Bangalore.This pivotal role requires a hands-on leader who excels in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable network solutions, especially within modern data center environments.The successful candidate will wield advanced expertise in both traditional and innovative networking and will play a critical role in shaping the network strategy and infrastructure that powers our enterprise. High performance, reliability, and security are central to our mission, and the Senior Network Engineer will be instrumental in ensuring these standards are met and exceeded.Key Responsibilities• Design and Build Data Centers: Take ownership of the end-to-end design, planning, and deployment of next-generation data center networks. Utilize Cisco/ Juniper switches and Apstra for network automation and intent-based networking, ensuring that the architecture is both scalable and resilient to meet the evolving needs of the organization.• Network Architecture & Strategy: Develop and maintain comprehensive network architecture standards and roadmaps. Establish best practices that enable business growth while integrating new technologies, ensuring both immediate and long-term strategic goals are supported by a solid network foundation.• Advanced Routing Expertise: Design, configure, and troubleshoot complex routing environments. Employ dynamic routing protocols such as BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), IS-IS (Intermediate System to Intermediate System), and OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) to maintain optimal traffic flow and ensure network resilience against failures and congestion.• Network Automation: Leverage network automation tools to streamline and improve network operations. Implement automation for configuration management, deployment, and ongoing maintenance to reduce manual intervention and increase reliability and repeatability across the infrastructure.• Performance & Optimization: Monitor network performance and proactively identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies. Utilize best-in-class solutions to analyze traffic, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements that enhance the efficiency, availability, and robustness of network services.• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution of complex network issues. Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and deliver high-quality support to minimize downtime and maintain business continuity.• Security & Compliance: Implement and manage network security policies, firewalls, and other protective measures to safeguard the network infrastructure and associated company data. Ensure that all solutions are compliant with relevant industry regulations and standards, maintaining a strong security posture across all systems.• Documentation: Develop and maintain thorough documentation of network architectures, diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures. Ensure that knowledge is well-captured and easily accessible for efficient troubleshooting, scaling, and knowledge transfer.• Collaboration: Work closely with customers and cross-functional teams—including systems engineers, security engineers, and application developers—to deliver integrated, holistic networking solutions that align with organizational goals.• Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers, sharing expertise and best practices in network design and operations. Foster an environment of continuous learning, technical growth, and collaboration within the team.Required Technical Experience & Qualifications• Experience:Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, with a significant focus on large-scale enterprise or service provider networks. Demonstrated ability to deliver projects at scale and contribute to sophisticated network environments.• Data Center Networks: Proven track record in designing and building data center networks using Juniper switches and Apstra. Experience with other SDN/DCN platforms such as Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, or Arista CloudVision is an asset, but strong expertise with Juniper and Apstra is essential.• Dynamic Routing Protocols: Deep understanding and hands-on mastery of dynamic routing protocols, including BGP, IS-IS, and OSPF. Must be adept at designing and supporting robust, efficient routing architectures and troubleshooting complex routing scenarios.• BGP Expertise: Demonstrated capability in designing and implementing complex BGP peering strategies, including both iBGP and eBGP, as well as route reflectors and advanced policy-based routing.• IS-IS and OSPF: Practical experience with IS-IS and OSPF multi-area design, optimization, and troubleshooting, ensuring scale and performance in dynamic environments.• Juniper Junos OS: Strong proficiency in configuring and managing Juniper Junos OS, including system upgrades, performance tuning, and operational troubleshooting.• Network Automation: Hands-on experience with network automation tools and scripting languages such as Python and Ansible. Ability to develop, test, and deploy automation scripts for routine and complex network tasks is highly desirable.• Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with leading network monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, and SolarWinds. Ability to interpret network metrics and visualize real-time and historical data for actionable insights.• Virtualization & Cloud Networking: Understanding of modern virtualization technologies (including Kubernetes, VMware, and KVM) and cloud networking concepts for major platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP.• Mobile Network Architectures: Solid grasp of 4G and 5G mobile network architectures and technologies, with experience in Mobile Backhaul (MBH) network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.• Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively under pressure in high-availability environments.• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document solutions clearly and interface effectively with stakeholders at all levels.Education and CertificationsBachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.• Relevant professional certifications are highly preferred, including but not limited to JNCIE-DC (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert – Data Center), JNCIE-SP (Service Provider), JNCIE-ENT (Enterprise), CCNP, CCIE, or other comparable credentials.Why Join Us?As a Senior Network Engineer, you will have the opportunity to influence the technological roadmap of a fast-growing enterprise, working alongside a talented team of engineers and IT professionals.
