Manager – End User Computing – Application Packager

Accountabilities/Responsibilities Assist in preparing Windows applications for deployment by packaging them in formats compatible with Microsoft Intune (e.g., .intunewin, .msi, .exe). Collaborate with the Senior Manager and Lead Engineer to deploy packaged applications via Microsoft Intune. Validate deployment profiles, assignment groups, and installation behaviour across targeted devices. Perform functional and user acceptance testing of packaged applications in controlled environments. Troubleshoot installation issues and refine packages to ensure seamless deployment. Contribute to PowerShell scripting efforts to automate repetitive tasks such as application packaging, version control, and deployment status reporting. Track deployment progress using Intune and endpoint analytics. Identify and resolve packaging-related issues to minimize disruption to end users. Work closely with security, infrastructure, and service desk teams to align application packaging efforts with broader EUC initiatives and compliance requirements. Follow established packaging standards and corporate policies. Maintain detailed documentation for each application package, including version history, dependencies, and deployment instructions. Support EUC-related initiatives such as OS upgrades, device refreshes, and platform migrations by contributing application packaging expertise and assisting with project deliverables. Key Stakeholder Management Internal External Business & Application Support Teams Consultants Vendors ( Microsoft) Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification Knowledge & Skills (Key): Package applications using tools such as Admin Studio, InstallShield, Wise Package Studio, PowerShell, MSI/EXE wrappers, and Microsoft App-V for virtualized application delivery. Perform application repackaging, scripting, and customization based on specific business requirements. Demonstrate a sound understanding of Windows 10/11 management and its impact on application compatibility and deployment. Work with various packaging formats including MSI, Win32, MSIX, and App-V, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance. Develop and execute PowerShell scripts for automation of packaging tasks and generation of data reports. Conduct thorough testing of packaged applications in UAT environments to validate functionality and stability prior to deployment. Maintain comprehensive documentation for each package, including installation steps, rollback procedures, dependencies, and App-V sequencing details. Ensure version control and maintain change management records for all packaged applications. Collaborate with deployment teams to publish packages via SCCM, Intune, or other enterprise deployment platforms. Apply strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve packaging and deployment issues. Utilize an analytical mindset to evaluate systems and processes for continuous improvement opportunities. Create and maintain detailed documentation to support technical knowledge sharing and process enhancements. Be hands-on and delivery-focused, ensuring timely and high-quality output in all packaging activities. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS (DESIRABLE): Experience with Infrastructure technologies e.g. Intune, Autopilot, Azure Active Directory Experience with desktop management and monitoring tools Experience with Citrix, Cloud PC, or other VDI platforms.
