Key Responsibilities :

Application Support :

- Provide day-to-day support for various business-critical applications, ensuring their smooth operation and minimal downtime.

- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues promptly, working closely with development teams, system administrators, and other IT staff.

Incident Management :

- Manage and resolve incidents related to application failures, performance issues, and other technical challenges.

- Log incidents in the ticketing system, ensuring accurate documentation and timely escalation when necessary.

User Support & Training :

- Assist end-users by providing guidance, resolving issues, and ensuring that they have a positive experience with the applications.

- Conduct training sessions and create user documentation to help users better understand and utilize the applications effectively.

Monitoring & Performance Tuning :

- Monitor application performance and proactively identify potential issues before they impact users.

- Optimize application performance through fine-tuning, system configuration, and resource management.

Root Cause Analysis :

- Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues, identifying underlying problems, and working with relevant teams to implement permanent fixes.

- Prepare detailed reports on incidents and resolutions for continuous improvement.

Deployment & Configuration :

- Assist with the deployment, configuration, and upgrade of applications, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

- Work closely with the development and QA teams to support application releases and patches.

Collaboration :

- Liaise with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, network, and database administrators, to ensure seamless application support.

- Participate in team meetings, providing updates on ongoing issues and support activities.

Compliance & Security :

- Ensure that applications are compliant with security policies and industry regulations.

- Implement security best practices and work with the security team to address vulnerabilities.

Shift & On-Call Support :

- Provide support during different shifts and be available for on-call support as required to handle critical incidents outside regular working hours.

Continuous Improvement :

- Stay updated with the latest tools, technologies, and best practices in application support.

- Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the application support function.

Preferred Skills :

- Technical Skills : Knowledge of databases (SQL, Oracle), operating systems (Linux, Windows), and networking concepts.

- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve application issues effectively.

- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Tools : Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Splunk) and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA) is a plus.

- Agility : Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
