Objective:


The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance.


Main duties and Responsibilities:


Experience in Education Sector: Candidates should have substantial experience in the education sector, preferably in early childhood education. Nalanda Learning emphasizes the importance of foundational literacy and numeracy in line with the National Education Policy 2020, so familiarity with these educational policies and practices is essential​.


Recruitment and HR Expertise: Proven expertise in recruitment and human resource management is crucial. This includes experience in hiring for various educational roles, understanding of recruitment strategies, and capability in managing onboarding processes for educators and administrative staff​.


Technology Proficiency: Given Nalanda Learning’s integration of technology in its educational solutions, candidates should be proficient in using modern HR and recruitment technologies. Experience with digital learning platforms and tools used in education, such as those provided by Nalanda’s ASSIST program, will be advantageous.​


Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effectively interacting with potential candidates and other stakeholders. The ability to represent Nalanda Learning’s values and mission to prospective employees is important for maintaining the organization’s culture and standards.


Strategic and Analytical Thinking: The role requires strategic planning and analytical skills to align recruitment strategies with the company’s growth and expansion goals. Understanding the broader educational landscape and the ability to forecast hiring needs in alignment with company objectives is critical.


Desired Candidate Profile


  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a Human Resources role with Team Handling.
  • Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration.
  • Experience in full-cycle recruiting, sourcing, and employment branding.
  • Proficient in the use of social media and job boards
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Has preferably worked in a start-up.
  • Comfortable in travelling
