Developer: 2+ Years

Take part in the development of a complex Life and Pensions information system utilizing the eMerge development platform.

You will undergo training in the eMerge platform and will then join the development team.  You will be assigned to a Development Team Lead who will be your mentor for the first year on the project.

The developer will be expected to be able to take up requirement documents, hold discussion with Business Analysts and System Analysts and come up with a solution design which is in line with the requirements and fits in with the existing system.

The development will be done mostly using the eMerge development tools as well as SQL. Some scripting may also be required.  The developer will also be expected to follow the procedures and processes which are in place

  • Great team player, innovator at heart with an excellent interpersonal skill who is passionate about technology, have a strong interest in the learning the product/platforms architecture.
  • Self-starter driven to deliver results
  • Willing to Learns /or Speaks language of business processes/functions.
  • Set priorities/ monitor progress to goals and track

  • Solve problem and make decision that enhance Sapiens effectiveness
  • Quickly zeros in on critical priorities

Skills Needed

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with software development of information systems mandatory
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL at a high level - mandatory.
  • Graduate degree in computer science/information systems / Industrial Engineering - Advantage.
  • Knowledge of eMerge/ COBOL/Shell Script / Data Modelling  - advantage
  • Knowledge of JIRA – advantage
  • Experience working in an Agile environment preferred
  • Insurance domain experience is advantage
  • Experience with Rules Based system - advantage
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and invest time and effort to become proficient in these in a very short period
  • Ability to create Technical Designs
  • Ability to work both within a team and independently.
  • Self-learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and spoken.
  • Fluent English.
