Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced
Mainframe Developer (COBOL & OmniScript)
to support and enhance legacy systems, develop new modules, and optimize manual processes. The role demands strong expertise in COBOL and OmniScript, with a focus on delivering scalable, high-quality, and business-aligned solutions.

Key Responsibilities


Code Maintenance & Enhancements

  • Perform code fixes and enhancements in COBOL and OmniScript applications.
  • Ensure maintainable and high-quality code aligned with client requirements.


Program Development

  • Design and develop COBOL programs and OmniScript drivers based on specifications or regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders for functional understanding.


Testing & Support

  • Conduct unit and integration testing for developed modules.
  • Support QA teams during testing cycles and promptly resolve defects.


Optimization & Automation

  • Analyze manual processes and recommend automation opportunities.
  • Implement performance tuning to improve efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong experience in
COBOL programming & OmniScript development (FIS Omni)

Skilled in
batch & online COBOL modules

Hands-on with
Shell scripting (Linux)

Familiarity with
retirement services & life insurance domain

Strong SDLC knowledge and experience with
Agile methodologies

  • Proven expertise in requirement gathering, analysis, design, coding, unit testing, defect tracking & fixing
