  1. To work as a vehicle to drive and co-facilitate the I&C Governance Model in South Asia region
  2. Strengthen business partnership by helping set strong tone by raising awareness, increasing knowledge, and effectively cascading central policies and initiatives within the region
  3. Developing and delivering the compliance program for all BUs in South Asia region including central communication initiatives, regional awareness messaging and the training plan
  4. As Privacy Manager for the region, ensuring compliance with AkzoNobel privacy rules and regional privacy laws
  5. As Competition Law point of contact, involved in advisory and transactions having an impact on competition law.



Describe the responsibilities and accountabilities of the job. Which tasks is the job holder responsible for? What results are to be achieved?



  1. Lead the development and delivery of I&C plan for the region, focusing on anti-bribery anti-corruption topics, data privacy and competition law. Supporting third-party management, human rights, and export control central initiatives
  2. Stakeholder management and partnering with leaders at Regional/Country level to set tone at the top and partnering for effective implementation of compliance program and policies in the region
  3. Implementing and designing regional and country governance model to drive ownership and accountability for Integrity & Compliance in business functions
  4. Implementing global policies, rules, and procedures in the region along with tailoring and issuing guidance suitable to regional/local needs and change management activities
  5. Advising and counselling the business on global compliance policies and standards, local laws and supporting the business in risk mitigation & ensuring compliant activities
  6. Ensuring tailored communication and awareness program; regular updates to regional leadership
  7. Lead the setting of integrity standards across the region through awareness initiatives, day-to-day advisory and ensuring integrity risks are appropriately managed and mitigated
  8. Provide day-to-day counselling to business and functional teams to ensure compliance with AkzoNobel standards and ethics
  9. Ensuring compliance with global privacy laws and GDPR; ensuring preparedness for upcoming data privacy regulatory developments and conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) for all applications and processes that process personal data in the region
  10. Acting as point of contact for SESA region involving advisory on competition law issues, transactions and contracts requiring competition law assessment
  11. Support central investigation team on local investigations on need basis
