Regional Crop Lead
to join and further develop our ambition.
Position purposeCrop strategy: (Mid to long term)Lead regional crop strategy development and its implementation as per Company strategy.Coordination within the crop community (Breeder/Product Development/Supply Chain…) and Sales to ensure that the crop strategies are implemented.Market development:Lead, align and activate the community of Customer Marketing and Sales (up and downstream).Coordination with Regional sales managers for implementation of MD activities.Creates & leads the respective crop communities in the region vis a vis Reference expert for the crop with key accounts and other stake holders.Lead concept development to foster trend-to-traits innovation.
Major AccountabilitiesDevelopment and Implementation of Crop Strategy
Brings the Market Intelligence (incl. competitor moves) regarding the crop in the region.Contributes to the strategy process by bringing input to the Regional and Global Marketing regarding crop strategy in the region.Lead projects to develop and implement concepts in the region (incl. scouting for downstream opportunities/consumer trends/partnerships) by involving the relevant stakeholders.Prepares and is responsible for the implementation of the regional crop marketing plan (in collaboration with Customer Marketing, Sales), including market tactics to conquer the market.Designs and steers demand generation activities and strengthen the crop team spirit / crop focus in the region.Define and implement (with Customer marketing and Country Manager) Operational Marketing Plan for the region (including sales targets and marcom briefing).Bring regional market insights and customer intelligence to the crop tactical team.Lead Life cycle management and regional elevation meetings in collaboration with Product Development ensuring consistency between the regional and global level.Define introduction, growth and EOL strategies, including best grower prices aligned with Country Manager.
ForecastingIs responsible for both short term & long-term forecasting collaboration with the regional sales managers.Works closely with Country Manager (&team) to align and generate consensus (during new introductions) on the forecast for varieties.
PricingNew introductions: RCL as the local expert – studies/anticipates market and proposes the right pricing.Annual pricing review: To support logical decision making (provides local input) to Regional Marketing Head and Head of Regions.
New Introductions (variety elevation to commercial)Proposes introduction strategy as well as responsible for implementing these introductions.
Product development in the regionCollaborate closely with Product Development specialist to ensure the development of the pipeline is aligned with the present and future market requirements.
Claims and ComplaintsProvides support to Country Manager and Regional Sales Manager for crop related complaints/claims/compensations etc. (Country Manager in the lead for solving the complaint – final accountable is HoR).Provides support to Marcom team on creating the “right message” and development of promotional inputs per variety.
Community of crop representativesLead the community of crop representatives keeping the sales crop team connected and collaborating, strengthening the international approach for the customer benefit.Closely collaborate with the Regional PD Specialist, ensuring coordination at regional level and support from sales to the crop strategies.Connect with key customers, value chain players and stakeholders in alignment with the primary contacts.Is the reference expert for the Key Accounts for projects/strategies of the crop.Works with Customer marketing on translation of crop strategies to customer approach
Your ProfileBachelor/Master in Business administration/agriculture with 8+ yrs. experience in marketing & sales with hands on experience in Marketing / Strategy in agriculture sector preferably in seeds and Crop Protection.Good understanding of the country business.High level of English proficiency and relevant languages in the country.Leadership and social versatility.Collaborative skills and ability to influence without authority.Strong management & communication skills.Able to work in a matrix organization.Style of management should be “coaching”.Entrepreneurial mindset.
