Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role as a retention manager at Wizdom: Books and Podcasts Summaries in 15 Min, located in Mumbai. The Retention Manager will be responsible for implementing customer retention strategies, analyzing retention data, enhancing communication with customers, and providing excellent customer service on a day-to-day basis.
Responsibilities:
Customer Lifecycle Management:
Develop and execute comprehensive customer lifecycle marketing programs across various channels (email, SMS, push notifications, in-app messaging) to nurture users throughout their journey with Wizdom.
Create dynamic user segments based on demographics, behaviour, and lifecycle stage to deliver targeted and relevant communications.
Design and implement automated campaigns (e.g., onboarding, win-back, cross-sell) to optimize key touchpoints and drive user engagement.
Collaborate with product and content teams to ensure seamless user journeys from acquisition to activation, retention, and advocacy.
Retention & Growth Strategy:
Analyze user data to identify key trends, user pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop data-driven retention and growth strategies to maximize user lifetime value and drive sustainable app growth.
Partner with the product and engineering teams to implement features and functionalities that enhance user experience and address retention challenges.
Implement loyalty programs and referral initiatives to incentivize repeat engagement and customer acquisition.
Marketing Automation & Martech Expertise:
Manage and optimize marketing automation platforms (e.g., Clevertap) to create personalized user journeys and automated campaigns.
Craft compelling and engaging email, SMS, and in-app messages that resonate with different user segments.
A/B test different campaign elements (e.g., subject lines, messaging, CTAs) to optimize performance and conversion rates.
Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, design, customer success) to ensure alignment between marketing initiatives and broader business goals.
Clearly communicate marketing strategies and campaign results to stakeholders.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field (Master's degree a plus).
3+ years of experience in retention marketing, growth marketing, or a related field.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful retention and growth campaigns across mobile app platforms.
Strong understanding of marketing automation tools (e.g., Clevertap, MoEngage) and marketing analytics platforms (e.g., Mixpanel, Google Analytics).
Excellent data analysis skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw actionable insights.
Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Passion for marketing and a deep understanding of customer behaviour.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
