Business Development Lead

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Lead to spearhead our clients licensing initiatives with companies based in China and Japan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, with specific expertise in In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD), pharmaceuticals, medical technology, or healthcare. This role requires a deep understanding of the Chinese and Japanese markets, a robust network within these regions, and a proven track record in securing and managing licensing deals.
Total Experience : 10 years
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to identify and pursue licensing opportunities with Chinese and Japanese companies.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and potential partners in the IVD, pharmaceutical, med tech, and healthcare sectors within China and Japan.
- Partnership Development: Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in target companies, including senior executives and decision-makers.
- Deal Negotiation: Lead negotiations for licensing agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and alignment with company objectives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, regulatory, legal, and marketing, to ensure seamless execution of licensing deals.
- Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, review, and management of licensing contracts and agreements.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and report on the performance of licensing agreements, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for optimization.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business development, licensing, or strategic partnerships within the IVD, pharmaceutical, med tech, or healthcare sectors.
- Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Chinese and Japanese markets, including regulatory environments, business practices, and cultural nuances.
- Track Record: Proven success in securing and managing licensing deals with companies based in China and/or Japan.
